2 Corinthians 8:19

Not only so, but he was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.

What does 2 Corinthians 8:19 mean?

Paul is describing how one of his companions was chosen by the churches themselves to travel with him and help distribute aid to believers in need. This wasn't Paul acting alone, but rather the communities actively participating in and witnessing this work of generosity. By having their own representative present, the churches could confirm that their gifts were being handled faithfully and used for genuine help, which ultimately brought honor to God and showed everyone involved was serious about following through on their commitment to care for others.
