What does 2 Corinthians 4:10 mean?
Paul is describing the paradox of following Jesus: when we experience hardship, rejection, or loss because of our faith, we're actually participating in Christ's suffering. But here's the beautiful flip side, he says, when we let go of our own comfort and control (like Jesus did on the cross), his resurrection life becomes visible through us in surprising ways. People see our joy despite difficulty, our forgiveness despite hurt, our hope despite circumstances that would crush ordinary hope. It's not that suffering is good in itself, but that when we're willing to lose our life for Christ's sake, we find something truer and more alive emerging from us than we would have found any other way.
