What does 2 Corinthians 3:9 mean?
Paul is contrasting the old covenant (the law) with the new covenant (grace through Christ). The "service of condemnation" refers to living under the law, which shows us our failures and leaves us guilty. The "service of righteousness" is the gospel, which doesn't just point out our sin but actually transforms us and restores our relationship with God. Even though the law itself was glorious and good, what God offers through Christ is far greater. It's the difference between a system that reveals what's wrong with us and one that actually fixes it.
