What does 2 Corinthians 12:18 mean?
Paul is defending his integrity here, responding to criticism that he or his companions had financially exploited the Corinthian church. He's asking rhetorically: haven't Titus and I acted with complete consistency and honesty? Didn't we share the same values and follow the same principles? The repeated questions aren't really questions at all, but affirmations meant to remind them of what they already know about his character. It's the kind of thing someone says when they're hurt by an accusation they feel is unfair, pointing back to a track record of faithfulness.
