2 Corinthians 10:12

What does 2 Corinthians 10:12 mean?
Paul is addressing a real problem in the Corinthian church: some people were constantly measuring their spiritual worth against others and then boasting about how they stacked up. He's saying this whole game is foolish because when you only compare yourself to people you've chosen, you can always find a way to feel superior, and that reveals a lack of true wisdom. The point isn't that self-reflection is bad. Rather, Paul is warning against the kind of comparison that feeds pride and divides community. When we're only looking at ourselves relative to people around us, we lose sight of what actually matters and we miss the humility that comes from a bigger perspective. He's inviting the church to step out of that exhausting, circular thinking where everyone's trying to prove something to everyone else.
