2 Chronicles 35:14

Afterward they prepared for themselves and for the priests, because the priests the sons of Aaron were busy with offering the burnt offerings and the fat until night. Therefore the Levites prepared for themselves and for the priests the sons of Aaron.

What does 2 Chronicles 35:14 mean?

During King Josiah's great Passover celebration, the work of preparing the festival meal had to be carefully organized. The priests were so occupied with the sacrificial duties at the altar that they couldn't break away to eat, so the Levites (temple assistants) took it upon themselves to make sure food was ready for everyone, including the priests. This shows a practical, humble kind of service, where one group stepped in without being asked so that others could continue their sacred work uninterrupted. It's a quiet reminder that sometimes supporting others' important work, even in small ways like making sure they're fed, is itself a form of worship and faithfulness.
