2 Chronicles 32:25
“But Hezekiah didn’t reciprocate appropriate to the benefit done for him, because his heart was lifted up. Therefore there was wrath on him, and on Judah and Jerusalem.”
What does 2 Chronicles 32:25 mean?
King Hezekiah had just experienced an amazing deliverance, when God miraculously saved his kingdom from the Assyrian army. But instead of staying humble and grateful, his heart became proud, and he forgot to give credit where it belonged. The passage tells us that this pride didn't go unnoticed, and God's anger came upon him and his people as a result. It's a sobering reminder that receiving a blessing can actually become dangerous if we let it puff us up instead of drawing us closer to God in thankfulness and humility.
