What does 2 Chronicles 29:2 mean?

King Hezekiah stepped into a broken kingdom and immediately set himself to follow the pattern his ancestor David had established, living in a way that honored God. This wasn't about blind imitation, but about choosing the same core values: faithfulness, reform, and putting God's ways at the center of his reign. What made Hezekiah's choice remarkable was that many kings between David and him had abandoned that standard, so he was essentially saying, "I'm going back to what actually works." When we're uncertain about how to live faithfully, looking back at trustworthy examples and following their genuine devotion, rather than the easier paths others have taken, often points us toward what's truly right.
