What does 2 Chronicles 18:2 mean?
King Jehoshaphat of Judah visits his northern neighbor King Ahab, and Ahab rolls out the royal treatment with elaborate feasts and generous hospitality. The lavish entertainment works as intended: Ahab persuades Jehoshaphat to join him in a military campaign, though this alliance turns out to be a costly mistake. Sometimes the people we respect or who treat us well can pull us into decisions we wouldn't normally make, especially when we're flattered or caught up in the moment.
