What does 1 Thessalonians 2:12 mean?

Paul is reminding the Thessalonians that they've been invited into something tremendous, God's own kingdom and eternal glory, and that this generous calling naturally shapes how they should live. The word "worthily" doesn't mean perfectly or earning your way in, but rather living in a way that reflects gratitude for what you've already been given. He's saying that when you understand you're called to belong to God himself, it changes you from the inside out, making you want to honor that relationship through the way you treat others and move through the world. It's less about obligation and more about responding to an overwhelming gift with a life that matches what you've received.
