What does 1 Samuel 26:24 mean?
David speaks these words after sparing King Saul's life for the second time, even though Saul was actively hunting him to kill him. Rather than taking revenge when he had the chance, David showed mercy, and now he's asking God to remember that act of restraint. He's essentially saying: "I chose to value your life even when I could have ended our conflict, so I'm trusting God to value my life in return and protect me from those who want to harm me."
