What does 1 Samuel 26:13 mean?

After confronting King Saul in the darkness of the camp, David slips away and puts distance between himself and his pursuer. He climbs to a mountain ridge where he can be seen and heard, but safely out of reach. In this moment, David has the upper hand—Saul is vulnerable, David could have killed him but chose mercy instead, and now he stands separated from danger, able to speak his truth without immediate threat. The "great space" between them mirrors the growing gap between these two men and their different paths, one pursuing power through force and the other learning that restraint and faith matter more.
