1 Samuel 25:15

But the men were very good to us, and we were not harmed, and we didn’t miss anything, as long as we went with them, when we were in the fields.

What does 1 Samuel 25:15 mean?

David's young men are describing how they protected Nabal's shepherds and flocks while those shepherds were out working. They're saying they were genuinely kind, didn't steal or mistreat anyone, and made sure nothing went missing under their watch. It's a straightforward account of good behavior, offered as a reminder that when someone has been helpful and protective to you, they deserve courtesy and respect in return. The speaker (one of David's men) is essentially saying, "We kept your people safe, we asked for nothing, and we did our job well, so why the cold response now?"
