What does 1 Samuel 19:24 mean?
When Saul pursues David to kill him, he encounters Samuel and other prophets worshipping together. Something breaks through Saul's violent intent, and he becomes overwhelmed by God's Spirit, stripping his clothes and prophesying alongside them in an ecstatic state. His behavior is so transformed and so unlike his usual kingly dignity that people around him are shocked, asking in amazement whether even Saul has joined the prophets.
