What does 1 Samuel 17:33 mean?

King Saul looks at young David and sees only what's missing: size, training, military experience. By every practical measure, Saul is right—David is outmatched against Goliath, a seasoned warrior who towers over him. Yet Saul's logic, however sensible, misses something crucial about who David really is and what he carries into that battle. Sometimes the most reasonable objections are exactly the ones that need to be overcome by something deeper than reason: trust, conviction, or a strength that doesn't come from the world's measurements. This moment invites us to notice when we (or others) dismiss someone because they don't fit the expected mold, and to wonder what we might be overlooking.
