What does 1 Samuel 16:10 mean?

Samuel has come to anoint the next king of Israel, and Jesse is parading his sons before the prophet, confident one of them must be the chosen one. But after seven sons pass by, Samuel still shakes his head, each time saying the Lord has rejected them. It's a humbling moment for Jesse, who likely felt proud of his sons and secure in his family's standing. The scene reminds us that God's choices often surprise us, that outward appearance or natural expectation doesn't determine His will. Often when we think we know how things should work out, we're missing something entirely, and what God has in mind extends beyond what we can see from where we stand.
