What does 1 Samuel 15:31 mean?

After a devastating confrontation where Samuel told Saul that God had rejected him as king, something shifts in this moment. Saul asks Samuel to stay and worship with him, and Samuel agrees to turn back. It's a tender scene, really, where two people who've just experienced deep conflict come together in prayer. In that act of worship, there's an attempt at restoration, a reaching back toward God even as everything is falling apart. The moment is brief and poignant, showing us that even when relationships are broken and futures are uncertain, people can still show up for each other in faith.
