What does 1 Samuel 10:21 mean?
God had promised Israel a king, and now Samuel is casting lots to reveal who that king should be. Through this process, the tribe of Benjamin is identified, then narrowed down to the family of the Matrites, and finally to Saul himself. But here's the poignant detail: when everyone gathers expecting to meet their new king, Saul is nowhere to be found.
