What does 1 Samuel 1:9 mean?

Hannah had just sat through a family meal at the worship center in Shiloh, watching her husband honor his other wife with extra portions while she received nothing. That deep hurt pushed her to do something brave: she stood up and walked away from the table to pray privately by the temple. Eli, the priest, noticed her sitting there alone, pouring out her heart to God with such intensity that her lips moved silently. In that moment of her greatest loneliness and longing for a child, she found herself in the exact place where someone who served God could witness her desperation and eventually speak blessing over her.
