What does 1 Peter 2:23 mean?
When Jesus faced insults and pain, he didn't respond with anger or revenge. Instead of lashing back at those who hurt him, he trusted God to see what was true and to handle justice in the way only God could. This verse captures something remarkable about his character: even in his darkest moments, he chose restraint and faith over retaliation. Peter holds up Jesus as an example of how we might respond when we're treated unfairly or harmed, not because suffering is good, but because there's a deep strength in refusing to let bitterness take root in our hearts.
