What does 1 Peter 2:21 mean?
When Peter writes this to early Christians facing real persecution, he's offering something countercultural: the idea that suffering itself can have meaning and purpose. He's saying you weren't called to an easy life, but to a life shaped by the same sacrificial love that moved Jesus. The "example" he mentions isn't just about behavior, but about attitude, about choosing to love and do right even when it costs something. This doesn't mean God wants you to suffer or that pain is always good.
