1 Peter 1:21
βwho through him are believers in God, who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory; so that your faith and hope might be in God.β
What does 1 Peter 1:21 mean?
Through Jesus, we come to trust God in a deeper way. Peter is saying that believing in Jesus leads us to believe in God the Father, especially because God raised Jesus from death and honored him with glory. When we see what God did for Jesus, it gives us confidence that God is trustworthy and powerful, which roots both our faith and our hope firmly in him rather than in our own efforts or circumstances. This is the whole point of following Jesus: it brings us into a relationship with God where we can genuinely rely on him, even when life is uncertain.
