What does 1 Kings 7:44 mean?

King Solomon's temple included an enormous bronze basin called "the sea," which was used by priests for ceremonial washing. Beneath this huge circular tank stood twelve bronze oxen, arranged in groups of three facing different directions, supporting the entire weight of the water above them. The oxen represented strength and service, carrying the practical and spiritual burden of keeping the priests clean and holy before God. It's a beautiful image of hidden support—the sturdy animals you don't always notice are often what holds everything up.
