What does 1 Kings 2:7 mean?
David is reminding his son Solomon about people who showed him loyalty during one of the darkest moments of his life. When David's own son Absalom turned against him and forced him to flee Jerusalem, Barzillai and his family stood by him with practical help and friendship. Now, as David nears the end of his reign, he's asking Solomon to remember and repay that kindness by treating Barzillai's descendants well. This is David's way of saying that real friendship matters, and those who stand with us in our hardest seasons deserve to be honored.
