What does 1 Kings 19:17 mean?

This verse captures a moment when the prophet Elijah feels overwhelmed and alone, convinced that nobody else shares his faith in God. God responds by correcting Elijah's despair, revealing that there are actually thousands of faithful followers he doesn't know about, and that God has already put plans in motion through three leaders (Hazael, Jehu, and Elisha) to bring judgment on idolatry in Israel.
