What does 1 Kings 18:44 mean?
After three years of drought, the prophet Elijah had just witnessed fire fall from heaven to prove God's power. Now he sends his servant to look toward the sea seven times, and finally, on the seventh attempt, a tiny cloud appears on the horizon. What seems impossibly small to everyone else signals to Elijah that the breaking point has come, and he immediately tells the servant to warn King Ahab to head for shelter before the rains arrive.
