What does 1 Kings 18:21 mean?
Elijah is calling people to stop straddling the fence between worshipping the true God and chasing after Baal, a false god their neighbors promoted. He's essentially saying: you can't genuinely follow both, so pick one and commit to it. The people's silence is telling, too, revealing their discomfort and perhaps their awareness that they've been avoiding a real choice.
