What does 1 Kings 18:15 mean?
Elijah is making a solemn oath here, declaring his absolute commitment to God and his willingness to act on that commitment right now. He's essentially saying, "I'm so certain of God's presence and power in my life that I stake everything on it, and I'm ready to step forward today with what God is calling me to do." This moment comes right before Elijah confronts King Ahab and challenges the prophets of Baal to a dramatic test of whose god is real. Even though Elijah has been hiding and afraid, he's mustering his courage by anchoring himself to his living relationship with God.
