What does 1 Kings 13:7 mean?
King Jeroboam is trying to win over a prophet who has just delivered an unwelcome message about his altar. He's using the language of hospitality and generosity, offering food, rest, and payment, hoping the prophet will soften his stance or at least validate the king's position by accepting his invitation.
