1 Kings 13:31
“After he had buried him, he spoke to his sons, saying, “When I am dead, bury me in the tomb in which the man of God is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones.”
What does 1 Kings 13:31 mean?
A prophet had come to this kingdom bringing God's message, and though there was tension between them, the older prophet who lived there developed deep respect for him. When the man of God died unexpectedly, this older prophet asked to be buried in the same tomb, wanting his final resting place to be near someone he recognized as genuinely close to God. He was asking his sons to honor that wish after his own death.
