What does 1 Kings 13:23 mean?
The old prophet who had deceived the young prophet of Bethel is now preparing to send him on his way home, but this comes right after they've shared a meal together. The tragedy here is that despite having just broken bread with the young man (an act of fellowship and trust), the old prophet is about to send him back down the road where he'll be killed by a lion as divine judgment for disobeying God's direct command.
