1 John 5:1
βWhoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God. Whoever loves the Father also loves the child who is born of him.β
What does 1 John 5:1 mean?
Believing in Jesus as the Messiah isn't just an intellectual agreement, but a sign that God has already begun a deep spiritual work in your life. When you trust Jesus, you're born into God's family, and something shifts inside you. The second part follows naturally: if you truly love God the Father, you'll love what he loves. Since Jesus is God's child, loving the Father means you can't help but love Jesus too. It's less about forcing yourself to feel the right way and more about recognizing that genuine love for God flows naturally into love for his Son. This connection reminds us that our faith isn't fragmented, pulling us in different directions, but unified, all rooted in the same love.
