What does 1 Corinthians 8:12 mean?
Paul is saying that when we hurt someone's faith or convict them of wrongdoing through our actions, we're not just affecting them personally, we're actually wounding Christ himself. He's writing to a church divided over whether eating food offered to idols was acceptable, and he's pointing out that flaunting freedom in this area could shake the faith of newer believers who still felt conflicted about it.
