What does 1 Corinthians 2:16 mean?
Paul is asking a rhetorical question here, drawing from Isaiah: who could possibly know God's thoughts well enough to teach Him anything? The answer is nobody, of course. But then he makes a stunning claim: through Christ, we actually do have access to God's way of thinking and understanding. This doesn't mean we become all-knowing. Rather, it means that when we follow Jesus and let His Spirit work in us, we begin to see things the way God sees them. We start to think with His priorities, His compassion, and His wisdom instead of just our own limited human perspective. It's an invitation to let go of our stubborn certainty about how things should be and instead ask God to reshape our minds and hearts.
