What does 1 Corinthians 15:3 mean?
Paul is reminding the Corinthians of the most fundamental message he taught them when he first arrived, and it's the heart of Christian faith: Jesus died as payment for human sin. He's not inventing this idea but passing along what he received from those who knew Jesus and from Scripture itself, giving his words real weight and authority. What makes this so powerful is that it's personal. Christ didn't die as a distant historical event or abstract doctrine, but "for our sins," which means for you, for me, for everyone.
