What does 1 Corinthians 12:26 mean?
Paul is describing how the church works like a human body, where every part is genuinely connected to every other part. When someone in your faith community is going through pain, loss, or hardship, you're not meant to stay distant or uninvolved—their suffering actually touches you too. The same goes in the other direction: when someone experiences joy, success, or blessing, there's room for all of you to celebrate together rather than feel jealous or left out. This is a challenging ideal because it requires real empathy and genuine investment in each other's lives, not just showing up to a service. But it also means you're never meant to carry your burdens completely alone, and you're never meant to hide your good news out of fear that others will resent you.
