What does 1 Corinthians 1:28 mean?
God deliberately picks what the world overlooks and dismisses, using what seems insignificant to overturn everything the world considers important and powerful. Paul is writing to the Corinthian church, many of whom were poor, enslaved, or from humble backgrounds, reminding them that their low status actually makes them perfect vessels for God's work. When we feel small, overlooked, or like we don't matter, this verse says God sees exactly what the world misses and uses our very weakness to accomplish something that shatters worldly pride. It's an upside-down kind of power: not through force or status, but through the humble, the broken, and the "nothing" in human eyes.
