What does 1 Chronicles 6:81 mean?
This verse completes a long list of cities assigned to the Levites, the priests and temple workers of ancient Israel. Heshbon and Jazer were towns east of the Jordan River, in what is now modern-day Jordan, and they came with surrounding pasurelands (the "suburbs") where the Levites could graze their animals.
