What does 1 Chronicles 6:68 mean?

This verse is part of a detailed list of towns given to the Levites, the priestly tribe in ancient Israel. The Levites didn't receive one large territory like the other tribes, but instead were distributed throughout the land in smaller cities, which helped them serve as spiritual teachers and judges across all of Israel. Jokmeam and Beth Horon were among these designated cities, each with surrounding pastureland (the "suburbs") where the Levites could graze their animals and support themselves. Understanding this context helps us see that these weren't random names but part of God's intentional provision for those called to religious service.
