What does 1 Chronicles 6:28 mean?

Samuel, the great prophet and judge of Israel, had two sons named in this verse: Joel and Abijah. Unlike their father's faithfulness, these sons didn't walk in his ways, and later Israel's dissatisfaction with their corrupt leadership became one reason the people asked for a king. It's a poignant reminder that spiritual inheritance doesn't automatically pass from parent to child, and that even the most faithful among us can't force our children to choose the same path we did. Sometimes our deepest griefs come not from our own struggles but from watching those we love make different choices.
