1 Chronicles 28:21

Behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of God’s house. Every willing man who has skill, for any kind of service, shall be with you in all kinds of work. Also the captains and all the people will be entirely at your command.”

What does 1 Chronicles 28:21 mean?

David is reassuring his son Solomon that he won't be alone in building the temple, because the entire community is ready to support him. The priests and Levites have been organized into divisions, skilled workers are eager to help with whatever needs doing, and the leaders and people have committed themselves to follow Solomon's direction. This is a beautiful picture of what happens when a community rallies around a shared purpose. Solomon faces an enormous task, but he's inheriting not just a building project but a people unified and willing to work together. It's a reminder that we're rarely meant to carry our biggest callings alone, and that having others believe in us and stand beside us makes all the difference.
