What does 1 Chronicles 2:3 mean?
This passage introduces us to Judah's sons and immediately tells us that his firstborn, Er, displeased God so deeply that the Lord took his life. We don't get details about what made Er "wicked," but the Bible treats this as serious enough to warrant divine judgment, which was apparently not uncommon in that ancient period when God's people were still learning what holiness meant.
