What does 1 Chronicles 2:14 mean?

This brief genealogical line lists two of David's brothers in birth order. Nethanel was the fourth son born to Jesse, and Raddai was the fifth, which means they were part of the larger family that produced Israel's greatest king. While these names appear only in passing through the historical records, they remind us that every person in Scripture belonged to a real family with real relationships, and that God's story often unfolds through ordinary family lines and ordinary people whose names we barely know.
