What does 1 Chronicles 14:4 mean?

David had several sons born to him in Jerusalem, and this verse begins listing their names. Solomon, who appears here fourth in order of birth, would eventually become the most famous of these sons and Israel's next king after David. The listing reminds us that David's life included not just his legendary battles and psalms, but also the ordinary reality of family and children, each with their own identity and place in his household.
