What does 1 Chronicles 11:25 mean?

This passage celebrates Benaiah, one of David's most skilled warriors, whose reputation for courage and strength earned him a special position of trust. Even though Benaiah wasn't quite at the level of David's absolute three greatest fighters, he stood above all the other mighty men and was honored with leadership of the king's personal guard. It's a portrait of someone whose faithfulness and abilities didn't go unnoticed, even when he wasn't the very best, and how David rewarded that excellence with real responsibility and authority.
