What does 1 Chronicles 1:15 mean?
This brief list names three ancient peoples who lived in Canaan before Israel entered the land. The Hivites, Arkites, and Sinites were groups of people descended from Canaan (grandson of Noah), and they occupied various regions in what is now Syria and Lebanon. These genealogies in 1 Chronicles remind us that the land God promised to Abraham wasn't empty, but was home to many nations with their own histories and descendants.
